The world number one is a Zurdo.
Arturo Coello plays off his left hand. So do 41 other professionals on the FIP tour, and this page tracks all of them — every left-handed padel player holding a world ranking, updated monthly from the official Federación Internacional de Pádel lists.
Zurdos are around 10% of the world. Roughly 3.5 million of them play padel. At the top of the professional game that share carries its weight: 42 left-handers ranked, six inside the world’s top 20, nineteen inside the top 50, and 67 Premier Padel titles between them.
The reason sits in the geometry of the court. Padel is played in pairs — one player on the left side, one on the right. A right-hander on the left has their forehand in the middle. Put a Zurdo on the right and the pair has two forehands covering the centre, the most contested space on court. Angles open that a right-right pairing cannot produce.
Spain leads the register with 21 players, then Argentina and Italy with six each — nine countries in all. Sixteen women, twenty-six men. Denis Perino, ranked 61 in the world, entered this month. Search, filter and sort the full list below.

Left-handed padel players — common questions
How many professional padel players are left-handed?
42 left-handed players currently hold a FIP world ranking — 26 men and 16 women. Six of them sit inside the world’s top 20 and nineteen inside the top 50.
Who is the highest-ranked left-handed padel player?
Arturo Coello of Spain, ranked world number one overall, with 37 Premier Padel titles. Paula Josemaría is the highest-ranked woman at world number four, with 23 titles.
Do left-handed players have an advantage in padel?
A structural one. Pairing a Zurdo with a right-hander puts both forehands in the centre of the court, which is where most points are decided. Serves, bandejas and smashes also arrive on a mirrored line that opponents simply face less often — roughly nine in ten players they meet are right-handed.
Which side of the court should a left-hander play?
Conventionally the right side, so the forehand covers the middle. It is not a rule. Several professionals play the left and build their game around backhand-side angles instead.
Which countries produce the most left-handed pros?
Spain, with 21 of the 42 players on this list. Argentina and Italy follow with six each, then Great Britain with three. France, Germany, Singapore, Tunisia and the United Arab Emirates complete the register.
